Our story

Plant Traders was created to make plant sourcing, supply and coordination easier, smarter and more reliable.

Founded by Cheryl Saliba, Plant Traders is backed by almost 30 years of experience in the nursery industry. Cheryl entered the industry at 17 and has worked across production nursery environments, retail supply, residential projects, landscape projects, commercial supply and broader industry activity.

After 20 years working across the nursery industry, Cheryl established Plant Traders in 2019 to meet a clear gap in the market: clients needed access to someone who could not only source premium plants, but also understand quality, suitability, availability, logistics and the practical realities of getting plants from nursery to site.

Today, Plant Traders works with homeowners, landscapers, architects, developers, retailers and commercial clients, providing premium plant supply, plant coordination, horticultural advice and tailored plant services.

Industry Experience

With a long-standing background in the nursery and garden industry, Cheryl brings more than product knowledge. Her experience spans plant production, plant design, retail nursery supply, residential and commercial projects, landscape coordination, industry marketing and broader nursery industry involvement.

This depth of experience allows Plant Traders to advise not only on what looks good, but on what will actually work. We consider plant suitability, aspect, growth habits, size, quality, availability, cost, delivery requirements and long-term performance.

Industry Recognition

Cheryl has been actively involved in the nursery and garden industry, including serving as a director on the Nursery & Garden Industry Association board, with a portfolio that included marketing.

In 2010, Cheryl was also recognised by the Nursery & Garden Industry Association NSW with an industry award that encourages and develops young members of the association and acknowledged her contribution to the sector.
